United have been far from their best tonight but Elanga scored with his sides first shot on target after just coming off of the bench for Marcus Rashford.

 Manchester United return to UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday evening as they travel to face Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid n the round of 16 first leg match. United will be seeking to reach the quarter finals this season. Gone are the away goals in the competition this season, so there will be no main advantage with the second leg tie being played at Old Trafford, so 180 minutes of football should decide the winner of this tie, although extra time and penalties could be a decider, if needed. Ralf Rangnick’s side kept their form against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday, scoring two goals before the end of the first half, but collapsing in the opening ten minutes of the second half, before finding the lead again, then a fourth goal.

  Manchester United boosted their chances of finishing in the top four after beating Leeds United 4-2 on Sunday. United took a two-goal lead thanks to Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes, but they crumbled following the restart once again and two goals from Rodrigo and Raphina levelled proceedings, much to the delight of the raucous Elland Road crowd. It looked as though United would be lucky to leave Yorkshire with a point but two inspired changes from Ralf Rangnick turned the game back in their favour. Fred and Anthony Elanga entered the pitch and both found the back of the net to win the game
